Sonor’s BKX100 is a slight curiosity in that its range begins from the F below middle C. It’s an excellent way of accessing, in a top quality xylophone, a pitch range lower than alto but without the expense of a top quality deep bass instrument (which would start on the C below middle C.)

Sonor’s Palisono (glassfibre) bar xylophones are our recommendation for general classroom use.

They are in our opinion the best-quality range for use in schools and educational settings.

Palisono bars are wider (38mm) than some other makes of fibreglass bars which makes them easier to strike and because they are heavier than rosewood they are less prone to bouncing off if struck in the wrong place. The sound quality is excellent and they are impervious to heat and humidity changes.
