Sonor’s ‘Global Beat’ series is their entry-level range and is excellent value for money. Fibreglass bars are ideal for general school use as they are heavier than rosewood so less prone to bouncing off if struck in the wrong place and they are impervious to heat and humidity.

The sound-quality is truly impressive for an instrument in this price bracket. Spare pins, rubber and bars are readily available, which is not always the case with entry-level instruments.

N.B. There is no chromatic section or C#, D# & G# notes available for this instrument, nor does it take legs or fit on a trolley.
